Essence All About Nudes Swatches & Review!

Let me just say first that I really like this little pallet! The great thing is that it's only $4.99! The shadows are super pretty and you get decent pigmentation. I really like it because it's cooler toned. I picked mine up at my local Ulta.

My favorite shadow in the pallet is the top right; I like to put this all over my lid. Then I like to use the bottom middle shade in the crease and the top left shade under the brow and inner corners of my eyes.

Below are swatches all with just one swipe. From left to right: top left, top middle, top right, bottom left, bottom middle, bottom right.

The top picture is just with natural window light, while the bottom is with artificial light.

Is it Necessary to use Makeup Brush Cleaner on your Makeup Brushes?

Obviously you need to clean your makeup brushes, but do you need to buy makeup brush cleaner? The answer is no.

I usually use cheap shampoo to wash out the makeup on my brushes. It doesn't really matter what kind; however, I would suggest something that's more clarifying because this will help break up the oils in the makeup.

Honestly, I have always wanted to purchase makeup brush cleaner because I heard that it makes your brushes smell like vanilla or lemon, but it's pretty pricy for a tiny bottle. I haven't found anything reasonable that I wouldn't have to order online... which I don't really want to do unless I know and trust the seller.

Recently at Sephora I was given a sample of the BeautyBlender BlenderCleanser and I really like it. It's good for brushes not just BeautyBlenders. It retails for $17.95 for 6 oz, which is actually pretty decent. It doesn't make your brushes smell like vanilla or lemon, but it does break up the makeup what seems like instantaneously with little effort. Also, a little goes a long way so the 6 oz will last a long time.

Below is a before after picture using the BeautyBlender BlenderCleanser.

A $5 bottle of shampoo is still cheaper than $17.95 so I don't know if I'll switch over after I finish the sample, but it does work very well.

Updated Schedule!

I'm moving tomorrow!
So because I'm going back to school, I'm going to be a lot busier.
I'm going to try to start posting every Friday on my blog here instead of what I have been doing.
I actually have a blog post ready for this Friday, I'm just not sure if I'll have my internet set up to actually post it and the phone app doesn't work for me. So just sit tight and be patient for the next few days.
As for video's, I'm thinking of uploading Tuesdays... not completely sure on the date because I don't know what my filming situation will be. I will tweet if anything changes.

How To Earn A Little Extra Money

So there are two simple ways that I like to get a little extra cash.

1. Selling Old Clothes

Whether its old clothes, shoes, jewelry, or accessories; if you aren't going to wear it then why keep it? It can sometimes be hard to let go because, "What if I need it?" But if you really aren't going to wear it then turn it into money. The whole point of you wanting extra cash is because you want to buy new stuff. So our with the old and in with the new! I take my stuff to Plato's Closet and they have a few locations on the West Coast. My suggestion is to go closer to closing because they seem to be more willing to buy more stuff. I one time got around $60 going at a later time and it was with stuff that they had rejected before. That's the other thing: if they don't buy it the first time, they might buy it the second time. If you aren't near one of those, I'm sure there's another type of store near you that does something similar. And if all else fails, there is still the internet where you could sell your still usable items.

2. Recycle

Another way I like to get extra cash is taking empty bottles and cans to a recycling location. Don't just toss those things in your recycling bin for the city to pick up; that's like throwing away money. I'll be honest, the place I go to is a little (LOT) dirty, but the people there are so nice. Bottle's really aren't worth that much (I would still take them in though), but soda or beer cans are worth BANK! I recently took a lot of bottles in and about half a bag of cans and got $26, which isn't bad considering it's just garbage to me.

Loving The Life You Are Given

So when I got up this morning, I was wondering what I was going to post about. When I got out of the shower I figured I would get ready and finish filming some videos when I heard an odd knocking sound. I didn't really think anything of it, but then there was a really odd sound so I threw of some clothes to check it out. When I looked down stairs I saw my dog, Sam, having a seizure.

This isn't anything new, he's been having them for about a year and 8 months now. However, this was the first time that I had actually every witnessed it and I was alone. I live away from home most of the year so I'm not around it and when I am home, they're usually early in the morning.

I did what my mom said she does, which is pet him and say, "Sam, it's alright." This is so that he doesn't freak out when he comes out of the seizure because when he does, he doesn't remember what anything is.

Soon after the first one he had another, and another one after that. It's common for there to be two or three in a row. Luckily my mom came home soon after the last one. I helped her mop and give Sam a bath.

Despite having these seizures, Sam is still such a sweet happy dog that just wants to be friends with everybody. He's only six and I know his seizures are just going to get progressively worse, but he still just seems oblivious that they happen. And maybe he is, I really don't know what goes on in his head.

It just reminds you that it's important to love life even when life is hard and sad.

PETER THOMAS ROTH Skinstant Mask Magic Review

So I ordered this set of three masks about a week ago and I've gotten a change to try all three. I want to say first that I had been wanting this set for a while just because it really isn't a bad price. The set includes the Cucumber Gel Mask, Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask, and the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask.

Each of the masks is 1.7 oz and the set is $45, so basically $15 a mask. One of these masks sold on it's own is 5 oz and sells for $45 so you are getting a little less product, but you are also getting to try each of the three masks. I would like to add that the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask is not sold on its own at Sephora and is $42 for the 1.7 oz on the Peter Thomas Roth website. Considering that, it's almost as if you are getting the other two masks for just $3. So in my eyes this set is a good deal!

Now each mask does have specific instructions on how to apply and how to remove, which is kind of annoying because I wish they were all the same so that I wouldn't have to think about it. Nonetheless, they are all completely different so it does make sense.

My favorite of the three is the Pumpkin Enzyme mask! It smells straight-up like pumpkin pie. It's delicious and smells good enough to eat—don't do that though. It reminds me of the holiday season and I absolutely love what it does to my skin! This mask alone makes the set a winner in my book.

Between the other two, it's hard for me to say which one I like more. They're both great; however, one didn't stand out to me more than the other. The Cucumber Gel mask made my face feel refreshed, which is its intended purpose. I don't have particularly dry skin, but it is definitely hydrating. The Rose Stem mask was very interesting. It has a slight smell of roses like the name suggests that I'm not too keen on, but it isn't something that would keep me from using it. I enjoyed using it, though I think someone a little older would definitely see more of a difference when using this than I did.

Overall, I think this is a great set and would recommend it to anyone. I also believe it would be a great gift for a woman who likes to pamper themselves because it's great luxury products, but not ridiculously expensive.

In the picture below from top to bottom: Cucumber Gel Mask, Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask.

I wanted to show you a picture of the box, but I had thrown mine away so here's a picture that I found online.

URBAN DECAY Perversion Mascara Review

I heard that this mascara was amazing so I thought I would give it a try and since it was new I thought it would be a great product to review!
I ordered the Perversion Mascara from Sephora and it came with a Deluxe Subversion Primer for $22. You can also get the mascara on its own for the same price. Here is a picture of the box and below that is a picture with the mascara on the left and primer on the right.

To be honest, I am not thoroughly impressed by this product. I have found  way better mascaras at the drugstore. I love my Maybelline Rocket and its around a fourth of the price.
I think part of the problem for me is the wand. I usually prefer a wand with plastic bristles.

Below are some pictures with one coat. I did use the primer.

Below is with a second coat and I don't think it made a big difference, but I do like that it didn't get clumpy. I also think that it would be good for a more natural look.
