Back to School Goals!

So this is something a little different from what I normally do, but I really didn't want to write another review on a product because I don't want this blog to just be product reviews. I've been thinking a lot about what I want to accomplish when I go back to school and I have comprised a list in my head.
These are my five main goals for the next school year:

1. Do well in all my classes.
I feel like this should be obvious. Getting that degree is the whole point of me going to school.

2. Go to the gym more than once a week
This seems kind of lame, but at most I would only go once a week. Part of that was because I was busy, but the main reason was that I was just lazy. I really want to sit down with one of the trainers at my schools gym and figure out a plan for me that will help me achieve the goals I want (arm strength, flat tummy with a little ab definition, and a nice booty). I bought gym clothes just to motivate me...

3. Eat more fruits and veggies
I already know this will be easier because I will be shopping for myself and last school year I ate waaaay better than I have this summer; however, I want to do even better than what I was doing. Especially cutting out some of the candy... chocolate... from my diet. I will be the first to admit that I have a chocolate problem.

4. Try removing meat from my diet
This may seem stupid to some, but it's something I would like to do. I'm not going vegan or anything because I need my cheese, eggs and milk. However, I would like to try and remove meat from my diet because there's a lot of health benefits from doing so and just because I love animals. Kalel, a blogger/YouTuber that I love, did a blog post about going vegan and I thought it was great; I'll put a link to it here. I know that I wouldn't be able to go vegan... at least not anytime soon... so baby steps. Plus meat is expensive and living on a college students budget, it just doesn't work out.

5. Keep up with this blog and my YouTube channel
This is the one I'm focused on the most... well actually probably second to doing well in my classes... Nevertheless, I don't want to fall behind and let it be forgotten. Right now I alternate between blog posts and YouTube videos every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. To be honest, I know I'm going to have to change my schedule to probably one blog post and one YouTube video a week. This is because I'm going to have a lot of school work, I'm probably going to be working, & I'm in a sorority and the first half of the fall semester is the most time consuming. I'm going to do my best though!

Let me know in the comments what some of your goals are for this upcoming school year!

Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect Overnight Miracle Serum Review

This product has been around for a while, but I honestly haven't seen many people talk about it. This is actually a great little product for only around $7.99; however, I wouldn't call this product a miracle. Even though, it does do a great job at keeping the ends of my hair looking nice and healthy, it doesn't make my split ends go away. Often times I forget to use the product but when I do remember to use it... I'm in love!

One of my favorite parts about this product is that it has that Pantene smell that I think smells wonderful! So if you aren't typically a fan of how Pantene products smell, well this is the same as the others. When first putting it on, it looks a little heavy and as if your hair is damp, but after a few minutes it completely sinks in. Now, it's not really my least favorite part, but I simply this this product looks strange. (I'll let you decide what it looks like to you)

Overall, I think it's a great, cheap drugstore product that is often overlooked, even in my own cabinet. I do enjoy using it though and I would definitely buy it again. It's worth a try and you might find yourself pleasantly surprised!

Completely Bare: Don't Grow There Body Moisturizer & Hair Inhibitor Review

I first want to mention my Indiegogo page where I'm trying to raise some money to buy better filming equipment! The link to the page will be here. Please check it out and share it!

I saw this body moisturizer in an Ulta add and it struck my fancy because we all have hair that we don't want. I went to Ulta right away and picked up the $9.99 lotion that spoke of hairless miracles.
I honestly didn't expect much. A lotion that would prevent hair growth? It seemed too good to be true.
My first thoughts on the product was that it was priced kind of high, the art on the packaging was a little strange and it actually smelled pleasant; scented with lemon grass and green tea. The directions say to rub it into the areas you want to see less hair growth in the morning and at night. Now I'm pretty lazy, so I cut this back to just once a day. It also says that you should expect to see a difference in about 28 days, I just figured that it would take me 56.

I use this product under my arms and around the bikini line. To be honest, I haven't noticed any signs of less hair and I've been using this product now for around four months.

My overall final opinion on this product is that I didn't really prevent hair growth, but it did improve the quality of the skin where I used it. It smells fresh and clean and I will use it up; however, I probably won't repurchase it.

If you would like to try this product out for yourself, there will be a link to it here.

DRYBAR Detox Dry Shampoo

I have used several different dry shampoos from loose powders to sprays. DRYBAR's Detox Dry Shampoo, hands-down, has been the very best dry shampoo that I have ever used in my life. That may seem a little extreme, but it's true! Before I would wash my hair every other day—Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Now I wash my hair every three days (I think that's how you would say it). So if I wash my hair Monday I won't wash it again until Thursday. This stuff is like magic.

The only slight downfall is the smell and it's strong. I don't think it's bad; however, it's not my favorite and it does fad as you wear it.
If you're looking for a great smelling dry shampoo, one of the best smelling dry shampoos I've had was the Herbal Essences dry shampoo from their naked line, sadly mine broke after the first use. I would not buy it again and it breaking was the reason I decided to spend a little bit more and get the DRYBAR Detox Dry Shampoo.

The dry shampoo is a little pricy, but not too bad, at $20 for 3.5 oz. I picked mine up at Sephora where they also have it available in a travel size of 1.4 oz for $12. A link to it will be here if you would like to check it out!

I'll admit, when I first saw this product I was unsure how long it would last because it looked so small. However, it is very dense and I've been using it almost everyday for the past two months and I still have some left.
I also am a brunette, but I haven't tried this in the brunette shade primarily because I've heard it's horrible and completely the opposite of the regular formula.

I have also set up and Indiegogo page to raise money for better filming equipment, the link is here and it would be awesome if you could donate and share it!

Wen Cleansing Conditioner Review

So the first time I tried Wen was about a year and a half ago. I got the set on Sephora that comes with the cleansing condition, hair treatment (mask), and treatment spay in the Sweet Almond scent.
Thats when I fell in love with Wen!
Don't get me wrong, I was skeptical and thought it was kinda strange at first. I wasn't even sure if I liked it.
First of all, Wen cleansing condition describes itself as a "5-in-1 formula...takes the place of your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangled and leave-in conditioner." The directions say to use 10-16 pumps for short hair, 16-24 for medium length hair, and 24-32 for long hair. This is simply outrageous for a product that is $32 for 16 fl oz in my opinion. If you followed those instructions the product won't last you very long.

Now, I have used this product several different ways.
Though I have never used the full amount it has told me for my hair, I have coated my hair from root to tip using only this to clean my hair. It works well this way; however, I only liked doing this for a short while.
Another way I like using this is as a leave in conditioner. I normally use a spray-on leave in conditioner after I wash my hair, but sometimes after I get out of the shower I'll take a small amount of this (1 pump) and work it through my hair. It works very well, making your hair soft and smooth.
However, the best way I like to use this product (and the way I use it a majority of the time) is simply as a conditioner. I use a shampoo only on my scalp, wash it out, then use the Wen from root to tip, then take a deep conditioner on the tips of my hair. This way I get benefits from Wen, while making it last for as long as possible.

I have only tried the Sweet Almond and Cucumber Aloe (which is my fave). I have repurchased this product several times and I know I will purchase it again in the future.
If you would like to order the product yourself, I'll put a link to it here.
Below I have included a picture of the box, the ingredients list, and the product.

Thank You, bareMinerals!

Before I dive-in, I just want to say Happy Fourth of July to everyone in the US!
So back in May I entered a contest from AndreasChoice (who is a great YouTuber) on YouTube for a chance to get a make over with bareMinerals! They emailed me back saying they were interested in me and answered more of their questions.
Anyway, I didn't get chosen, but a couple weeks ago bareMinerals emailed me saying that they would still like to send me something to say thank you!
Today I received their gift and it was a full size Marvelous Moxie lipgloss in Rebel along with a very kind handwritten note!
I'm absolutely amazed by the generosity of bareMinerals, especially when I didn't even expect anything! So I just wanted to say thank you to them incase any of the people that work for them see this. Hopefully sometime after I get my college degree I'll be able to work for a company as great as they are!
Heck, in the meantime, maybe I'll even apply for an internship since I do live in the great city of San Francisco!
